I have seen so many talented young people these days but sadly none of them use their talent to make some money. I am a 22-year-old full time college student and making about $700 a week without even going to work. If you have been editing your photos for Facebook, Instagram or any other social network chances are you have a very creative mind. And I am sure you are more artistic than autistic. If you have some experience with Photoshop you should use that experience to make money. I will give myself as an example so you guys get the idea. Being a full time college student, I was always broke and needed a part time job. But it is so hard to get a part time job these and even if you do get a job most likely you can't focus on your studies. Like many of you I used to love editing pictures with Photoshop and realized I can use that skill to make some money. So how do I make money with Photoshop?
The first thing you want to do is go to your local graphic designing shops and find out their prices for the business cards, posters, flyers and others. Once you get the price make sure you try to keep your price lower than them. Now if you are like me living in NYC, you know there are so many restaurants, bars, small offices and groceries all over the city. Most of these businesses need business cards, posters, flyers and banners. And these businesses don't like paying the graphic designing company because they charge way too much. So, what I did was, I started to go around my block and asked every single business if they need business cards or flyers. I will be honest about 50% of them already have these done but if you offer them a good deal you will get the job. Start with the business cards because that’s the easy one to get.
Once you get the job, come back home; fire up your computer and Google the exact size of the business card. Once you get the size start designing it in Photoshop. In the beginning it will take you about 1 to 2 hours but as soon as you get pro at it, the designing will take you only 20 to 30 minutes. When you are done with the design, make sure you show it to the business that you designed it for and if you get the green signal from them, now what do you do?
Well, you should Google and look for printing press around your area. Once you get the list of all the printing shops around your area call them up and ask them for the wholesale price. Make sure you call multiple printing shops so you get a very good deal. Now on top of that price you need to put your own price and charge that amount to your client. Once you get the price that you like send your designed business card to them and get it printed for your client. It usually takes 24 to 48 hours to get them printed. Now it’s the delivery time, so you go and pick it up from the press and deliver them to your clients and charge them the price you told them. Easy right? Usually only the first time when you start this business you will have to find the printing press and get used to their price and printing system but you will get used to it.
Now how much do I charge to design and print business cards? I usually charge $50 to $75 dollars to design depending on how rich the client is and then if the press gives me a wholesale prices for 5,000 business card for $30, I charge the clients $130 for the printing. Now if you add that up, that’s $150 easy cash in your pocket. You get the idea? Once you do a good job designing you will get more clients. If you like the idea you can start designing flyers, posters, brochures and many other products.
